Stonehenge Auctions signed a B-BBEE deal with Kapela Holdings last month at the Fluxmans Attorneys offices in Rosebank.
Stonehenge Auctions is a relative newcomer to the auction industry, and they’re looking to challenge the status quo.
The company aims to redefine the manner in which property auctions are executed in South Africa through reshaping the way that traditional property companies and the community conduct business when it comes to repositioning or acquiring property holdings.

The mansion in Laudium, dubbed “The Palace”, was being auctioned off as owners Farhaad Gani and his wife had decided to downsize as all their children had long moved out.
The house – estimated to be worth R65 million – had been in the Gani family for 10 years. It took two years to build the 2 500m mansion.
The house has six spacious bedrooms with walk-in closets, an indoor pool with a water feature, gym, massage room, sauna, indoor theatre, private office and a prayer room. The home has religious verses on some of the walls and entrances.

During March 2015, Stonehenge Auctions charged a R100 entry fee to all who attended the viewing days of the R65million Laudium home that was up for auction.
After the home was successfully sold, Stonehenge Auctions donated the proceeds of the entry fees, which amounted to R5 200, to the ONE Wingz of Change initiative that aims to help those in need.
